The club close down went well with many hands making short work of getting boats put away for the winter and the buoys in with replacement markers to weather the winter storms.
Peter Davies and Paul Oliver manned the large RIB and I ended up in the floppy Avon acting as a ferry boat towing the Orange plastic O Boat as a carrier for the large marker buoys. It didn’t go according to plan! With three large buoys in the O Boat I set off back to the pontoon. The O Boat decided to take a dive and buried it’s bow, with two of the three buoys floating out. Less O Boat – more Das Boot!
A buffet lunch was followed by a brisk AGM with the business all finished by 2.30 pm. An important development announced at the AGM is that Ben Morris has agreed to be Commodore for 2020 and 2021. This was approved by the meeting and I’m sure that Ben will bring fresh ideas and momentum to our club.
